Contact Analysis (Part 1)¶
This analysis uses the data in tutorial/09_contact_hertz.
Analysis Model¶
This is a Hertz contact problem. Figure 4.9.1 shows the geometry to be analyzed, and Figure 4.9.2 shows the mesh data.

Analysis Description¶
A contact analysis is performed using the augmented Lagrange multiplier method by applying a prescribed displacement in the compressive direction to the upper surface of a quarter-disk model. The analysis control data are shown below.

Run the FrontISTR executable command fistr1.

Analysis Results¶
For the fifth substep, a deformed-shape plot with contours of the y-direction displacement is created using REVOCAP_PrePost and shown in Figure 4.9.3. As numerical analysis results, an excerpt from the analysis result log file is shown below.
